Brand Design
The client for this project is Zhenyuantang, a traditional herbal medicine company founded in the 17th year of the Qianlong Emperor's reign during the Qing Dynasty (1752). The client commissioned me to design an appealing IP character targeting girls aged 13 to 17, and to apply this character to the packaging design of a tea beverage product made using intangible cultural heritage techniques.
During the creative process, I drew inspiration from an ancient seal belonging to Zhenyuantang, which dates back 211 years. The crane depicted on the seal became the starting point of the design, eventually evolving into two uniquely styled crane-shaped IP characters. The aim was to enhance the brand’s visual identity and market appeal while also preserving and conveying cultural heritage.
